Kramer celebrates 10 years of Pfullendorf location

On Friday 7th September 2018, in the context of the employee summer party, the company celebrated the 10-year existence of the production location Pfullendorf in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Beside culinary delights, the program consisted of a retrospective look at 10 years of Kramer in Pfullendorf, the inauguration of the new education centre and the welcoming address by the Kramer-Werke Manager, Karl Friedrich Hauri.

In a friendly atmosphere, the workforce reviewed the last ten years in Pfullendorf with impressive images, particularly of the construction of the building. “Nothing is more consistent than change,” says the management spokesperson, Karl Friedrich Hauri and he was very pleased with the positive development of the Kramer-Werke GmbH at Pfullendorf. “We are confident that the company will grow further,” Hauri continued.

The company’s management could see no possibility for implementing its expansion plans then at the existing Kramer plant on the banks of Lake Constance at Überlingen. Already in 2006, over 2,500 construction machines had left the production belt. But production capacity had clearly reached its limits within the space available. To achieve the ambitious plans, the 16 hectare large property in the industrial park of Pfullendorf was purchased with an investment sum of EUR 35 million. The idea was to create 30,000 m² worth of cutting-edge production halls and a modern administration centre of 5,000 m². The contemporary assembly hall with integrated high-bay warehouse and its own paint shop is designed for over six thousand units per year. In addition, the location has a plant-owned test track. The symbolic ground breaking for the new plant took place on 5 April 2007 and just one year later, on 27 March 2008, the production facility was moved into, step by step.
Between 2008 and 2018, over 40,000 wheel loaders, telescopic wheel loaders and telehandlers were produced at Pfullendorf. Currently over 500 employees are working on the success story of the Pfullendorf company—a company rich in tradition and whose roots date back to 1926.

The new training centre

Right next to the display room, in which different events take place time and again and in which various machines are displayed, we now have the new training centre. Equipped with four additional workshops and three training rooms with cutting-edge technology, the facilities provide the perfect setting for the advanced training of the after sales team. This emphasises the importance of the after sales sector. Not only the place of training is new, but the training offer was redesigned, too. Thus there are new special trainings for the e-wheel loader, an electrically operated wheel loader. For maximum success, the trainings are offered at different levels. Thus up to 1,200 participants from all marketing or sales regions can be trained every year.
